'From young I have had a passion for drawing. Drawing things ike sketchy faces, drawing animals, plants, just anything that gets my interest. It was not until when I was 12 years old till I started to attempt to draw in a realistic style. I started to get serious and bloomed in my passion for the realistic/sub-realistic style of drawing when i was 15 years old - where i underwent huge technical improvement due to the outburst of passion and observational practice within that period. From realistic portraits, I shifted my art style to not using direct references in certain drawings.
For those drawings that are based mainly on my understanding on translating tones through mind and emotions I feel, I include fantasy, and surreal elements. From there, I started with symbolisms and concepts that I can bring out onto paper. Normally I draw things that I feel, experienced or what I know/understand through other people's experiences and sufferings and use it as an inspiration for the concepts and moods I convey. I hope to explore further in the future with more ideas and different mediums. Art I feel is limitless and I hope to inspire people as I improve with the art that I do.'
I am thinking of sharing my completed drawings post by post. So that i can do them post by post, maybe at 3-1week intervals. So here is the drawing that I am sharing today :)
Feelin' Good
Poem i wrote:
Its a new dawn, its a new day. Look away from the ugly picture that situations sometimes toss at you but focus on a brighter day. I look high up towards the sky, the Sun never forsakes me, emerging behind the gloomy clouds where I clearly see the silver linings shimmering ever so brightly. and I'm feelin' good, feeling great.. :) ---------------------------------------- this drawing is different compared to the others i have done. i have tried to include little pop elements here and there. its a simple work meant to be a try-out clothing design but turned out to be a drawing instead haha. for the concept i meant to keep t simple to rest a bit on concepts this time round as compared to my other drawings - i want to use lines as an expression as opposed to my realistic style :) i used a base reference for the face posture and changed a lot of things. other than that, its done without reference. hope you all enjoy viewing it as much as i had fun creating it :)
Today I went about Google Search, searching for Singaporean drawing blogs. I found a Singaporean portrait artist using blogspot to host her portrait selling business websites. After which I came across another blog dedicated to another Singaporean's passion for drawing and art-making. Sooo... I thought why not create my personal blog dedicated to my interest and passion? I developed a strong passion for drawing from young. Over the years, I went from drawing cartoon characters - mickey mouse - to pokemon, digimon, animals and then portraits.
For this blog i will be posting regular updates about my artworks and my thoughts about art. I'll type till here for now :).
